Johor patients seeking upmarket specialist services no longer need to travel out of Johor when HMI's Regency Specialist Hospital opens, says Dr Gan. THE MARKET CAP of Health Management International (HMI) is less than S$50 million, no thanks to the market slump.
The value is less than the break-up value of the company's assets, as a group of 10 analysts, fund managers and traders learnt after visiting the company yesterday.
At its office in Bukit Merah, HMI executive chairman Dr Gan See Khem gave a presentation on the company's business to them and took lots of questions.
HMI’s two business segments - medical tourism and education - will outperform in recession times, said Dr Gan.
At 8 cents a share, the stock is trading near to its year-low price. Its valuation is now at 7.9x historic PE.

Tritech's capability extends to geological and rock investigation for subsea oil/gas storage rock caverns WHAT DO the MRT Circle line, Marina Bay Financial Centre and Reflections @ Keppel Bay have in common?
Apart from being big-name local projects, they involve the participation of Tritech Group (Tritech), a new entry to the Catalist board and a specialist in geotechnical, ground and structural engineering.
And believe it or not, this company has 6 Ph.D holders in its management team, starting with the MD himself.
Listed on 21 August 2008 at 20 cents apiece, Tritech’s share price has fallen to 13 cents (2 Oct) as the US subprime crisis brought down investment banks and damaged confidence.
